What's included in this bundle?

This free 15-slide PowerPoint contains the key updates to the 2024 KCSIE, including the amendment to the definition of ‘safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children’, Early Help, radicalisation and more. The accompanying one-page handout summarises the presentation and can be sent to staff following the session so they have a chance to revisit the material.

Please note: This free resource does not replace full safeguarding training about what staff need to know from Part one of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024; it only covers the updates to this year's KCSIE. It shouldn't replace the initial safeguarding training or level 2 safeguarding refresher training that you offer - it simply enhances it.

Who will find this resource useful?

Designated safeguarding leads (DSLs), deputy safeguarding leads, safeguarding trainers or anyone else with responsibility for safeguarding training, such as a CPD co-ordinator or induction co-ordinator, will find this safeguarding refresher training pack invaluable. Headteachers and senior leaders can also use this pack to support their DSL and safeguarding team to deliver robust safeguarding training to all staff and volunteers at the start of the academic year or upon induction to your setting.

What questions does this pack have the answers to?

  • What's new in KCSIE 2024?
  • What changes and updates are there to KCSIE in 2024?
  • What do I need to update staff on?

What else can help me?

While this free PowerPoint covers the key 2024 KCSIE updates, you may wish to cover the KCSIE in more depth as part of your INSET training or staff induction package. Our KCSIE Annual Safeguarding Refresher Training 2024 is in line with Part One of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 and covers a wide range of safeguarding issues.

We also have robust training packs designed to cover the full Autumn, Spring and Summer terms here. These packs each contain a ready-made training timetable, 12 Safeguarding Scenarios, 12 Safeguarding Snapshots (one-minute, one-page glances at specific safeguarding issues), 6 Quick Quizzes and a PDF containing suggestions for use.

You can get the Annual Safeguarding Refresher Training and all three of the termly training packs as part of this large and comprehensive Safeguarding Training Pack - Full Academic Year, which provides you with everything you’ll need to effectively deliver safeguarding training this academic year.

If you’re looking to review your safeguarding processes and procedures, this Safeguarding Audit can help to improve or evaluate your school's approach to safeguarding. Covering the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) for safeguarding and evidence that the school is meeting the requirements set out in the statutory guidance document, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), this audit pack is useful for new and experienced leaders alike.

Additionally, if you’re thinking about doing a spot check on your safeguarding and child protection procedures or wondering what Ofsted will ask about safeguarding when they visit, this Safeguarding and Child Protection Deep Dive pack has been designed to give you the tools to gather a snapshot view of safeguarding in your setting.
