Every resource in this pack is designed to fit a specific point in your training cycle. Here's what you get and when to use it.

You'll get:

☑️ Staff Training Presentation – KCSIE Refresher Training 2026 (PowerPoint) – your main resource. A complete, ready-to-deliver INSET presentation with full facilitator notes in the slide notes panel.

The Core Version has 59 slides and covers Part One of KCSIE 2026 in full, including:

• The definition of safeguarding and what this means for school staff
• The fundamentals of safeguarding, including 'it could happen here', it's everyone's responsibility and acting in the best interests of the child
• Children who staff should be particularly alert to
• Signs and indicators of child abuse
• Physical, sexual and emotional abuse, and neglect

Whichever version you choose, you can deliver it in one session or break it into shorter chunks across several to meet the needs of your team.

☑️ KCSIE 2026 Updates Sheet – a clear two-page summary of the key changes to KCSIE 2026. Read it before you plan your session to identify what to emphasise with your staff. You can also use it as a staff handout during or after the session and share it with governors as a briefing document.

☑️ Safeguarding Scenarios – realistic, fictional situations for staff to work through and discuss. One scenario is included in the Core version and three are included in the Extended version. Each scenario includes trainer commentary to help you facilitate discussion and draw out key learning points. Paper-based versions are included so you can print them as handouts during the session.

☑️ Quick Quiz – Principles of Safeguarding – a bank of multiple-choice questions grouped by theme, so you can pick and choose to suit your time and focus. Includes a KCSIE declaration sheet for staff to sign confirming they have read and understood Part One. Together these give you a complete record of training delivery.
