Safeguarding Scenario: Staff Concerns (Intimate Care)

Train staff on how to respond if they have a concern about a staff member, including where allegations meet the harm threshold. Included in this download is one fictional safeguarding scenario where a newly appointed member of the support staff team provides intimate care to a pupil with medical needs but repeatedly breaches the school's intimate care policy. The scenario is suitable for both primary and secondary settings.

Also included is a guided walkthrough for the DSL or safeguarding training lead which lets you check whether staff can know what to do in response to low-level concerns and concerns meeting the harm threshold as well as ensuring they know who to report these concerns to. It's ideal to use as a discussion point in a staff meeting or INSET. It can also be used in response to safeguarding concerns in your setting to build a strong culture of safeguarding.
