Safeguarding Scenario: Extremist Ideologies (Staff Views)
Train staff on safeguarding pupils from radicalisation and extremist viewpoints. Included in this download is one fictional safeguarding scenario where a teacher in the setting teaches about a conflict between two nations but appears to support a particular viewpoint and seems to encourages the pupils to share it. This scenario is gender neutral and the class in the scenario are mostly aged 11, meaning it's suitable for both primaries (year 6 pupils) or secondaries (year 7 pupils).
Also included is a guided walkthrough for the DSL or safeguarding training lead which lets you check whether staff can spot the concerns about radicalisation as well as ensuring staff know how to respond to low-level concerns about staff or concerns that meet the harm threshold. It's ideal to use as a discussion point in a staff meeting or INSET. It can also be used in response to safeguarding trends or concerns in your setting to build staff understanding of keeping children safe.
